For this assignment, we are to describe the accountability procedures we will use in our classroom. We are to include the beginning of the day procedures, out of room policies, use of materials and equipment, and the end of the day procedures.
For the accountability procedures, the students will be accountable for themselves. I will still offer some guidance because they are in the 2nd grade, but the procedures will be in place from day one so they know what is expected. They will come in and put their belongings in the lockers, homework in the homework bin, any notes in for teacher bin, sharpen two pencils, and change their lunch card first thing. They can sit at their desks or with others and color or talk quietly till class starts. They will pass work to the front of the class and I will pick up there. Thier assignments will be posted on the board everyday. I will have each student a folder to keep up with the work completed, not completed, and their grades. If they miss an assignment, I will have an absent folder so they can do missed work. If work is not completed there will be consequences. For example, lost playtime to finish. They will work individually and in groups to learn interaction with others. They can use the water fountain, only at specific times. For example, after they come in from outside. They can go to the bathroom when needed as long as it does not become ridiculous. They will raise their hands for help. They will be responsible for cleaning up their own mess (toys, desk, etc). Interruptions will not be permitted, unless for emergencies. As far as being throughout the rest of the school. They will know that they are not to run in the hallways, respect it like their classroom and they are not to be anywhere without permission.
