EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY


For this assignment we are to define ourselves as a teacher. We are to define what our beliefs are, our teaching techniques and learning styles, the important points in our classroom, and the learning theories we plan to adopt.




My Belief Statement


  • I believe being a teacher should be living your dream!
  • I believe being a teacher is the hardest job, but the most rewarding and remarkable job.
  • I believe you should be a teacher only if the you truly love the job and students.
  • I believe a teacher should be caring, compassionate, and understanding.
  • I believe a teacher should teach showing and giving love and respect to everyone.
  • I believe a teacher should inspire and motivate.
  • I believe a teacher should display a welcoming, organized and well-disciplined classroom environment.
  • I believe a teacher should offer many different learning centers in the classroom.
  • I believe a teacher should be able to adapt and teach to all different learning types.
  • I believe a teacher should learn how to adapt to all different behavioral issues.
  • I believe a teacher should be able to recognize normal and abnormal behaviors of the students.
  • I believe a teacher should never loose the desire to learn themselves.
  • I believe a teacher should never be ashamed to say "I do not know the answer to that, but we can find it together".
  • I believe a teacher should always give 100% and expect the same from the students.
  • I believe in Skinner's theory of rewards and consequences.
  • I believe in Mender and Curwin's motivating students who don't care and disciplining with dignity.
  • I believe in Glasser's theory of students needing to reflect on their own behavior.
  • I believe in Gordan's theory of training systems to help improving relations with one another.
